Dr. Gountis is a 1998 graduate from the National College of Chiropractic. Prior to his matriculation at National College, he attended UW-Milwaukee for undergraduate studies. Dr. Gountis has his Bachelors degree in human biology. While at National College, as an associate researcher, he engaged in several studies on phytochemicals, herbs and their physiologic effects. Dr. Gountis has postgraduate status and certification in COX flexion/traction technique. This technique is utilized for the treatment of acute and chronic low back/cervical disk herniations, muscular and nerve dysfunction's, and a host of other pathologies. Dr. Gountis supervises the area of acute, sub acute and chronic phases of musculoskeletal care and is the Director of rehab in the center. His therapies include the use of modalities such as ultrasound, electric muscle stimulation, and cryo/heat therapies. Spinal/Chiropractic manipulation and muscle reeducation techniques are at the forefront of the healing process. Patient education on self/home care, and rehabilitation is also of critical importance for maximal healing and future prevention. Dr. Gountis is currently pursing a program leading on to board certification in orthopedics. He also is taking advanced courses in nutrition, sports medicine and kinesiology.
